Costa Rican Filmmaker Hilda Hidalgo says receiving support from Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez to adapt his novel “Del amor y otros demonios” ( Of love and Others Demons) for the screen is like winning the lottery. The idea was proposed in an encounter they had during a scriptwriting. Both of them were agree that “del amor y otros demonios” is the most adaptable to film and the author gave her all the freedom to make it.
Hidalgo traveled to Cartagena, Colombia, in search of settings and contacts to help film the movie. The script is not yet finished , but Hidalgo hopes it will be by late December. She plans to dedicate next year to casting and investing and start filming in 2006.
