Travelers Can Pre- Pay Exit Tax

Tourist departing  Costa Rica by air can pay their departure tax in advance and avoid long lines at the airports. This payment can be done in any branch of Bancrédito or Banco de Costa Rica (BCR) before heading to the airport.

It is also possible to pre-pay the exit tax upon entering Costa Rica, at the cash desk in the Immigration section of arriving passengers. Travelers flying with Grupo TACA  airline can do the same in its service centers.
